2014 - Hawkins ConstructionA new concept for NZ Data Centres, this project was constructed over 3 levels with an electrical plant on the ground floor, 4 separate Data Halls (4 x rows of 25 racks per hall) on level 1 and all mechanical plants on level 2, each data hall row is supplied from a stand-alone power system on the ground floor supplied by its transformer and generator feeding into a custom power train (total of 16 power trains) comprising rectifiers, supported DC bus and then via invertors to the AC load.
Contract works included the supply and installation of the HV network, including switch gear, metering, and transformers, as well as the design and installation of reticulation, small power, and lighting, all meeting TIA Tier 3 design requirements.
